Windows and Decorative Panels

The Giraffe panel framed with oak, was made to compliment a room  decorated with an exotic jungle theme in rattan furniture and accessories. The owner collects giraffe statuary and framed prints. This panel hangs in front of a window next to the fireplace. The outside plantings which are visible add extra depth to the giraffe nibbling on the green leafy tree. This panel included the technique of using glass stainer's paint for the tree's foliage and spots on the giraffe. The paint is applied to the individual pieces of cut glass and kiln fired to mature at 1250 degrees. This becomes permanent on the glass and is the technique as seen in the older church windows. A pair of panels located at Miguel's Restaurant on Siesta Key, Florida. The flaming sunset continues across to the second panel that features the owner's sail boat. This was done using all mouthblown antique glass including the rondel for the center of the sun. The 6 ft by 7 ft panels were made using the traditional lead came method of fitting glass into extruded H shaped lead, the older of the two techniques of working with glass. The bright colors of the glass is dampened by the lighted  diffusing panel applied to the outside of the window to prevent customers from seeing the outside area.

Many options are possible with combining fused or painted elements into traditional stained glass work using copper foil. This allows more detailed images without lines interrupting the overall design.

We can custom craft designs from simple geometrics to multi-piece masterpieces  to fit your budget and needs using a wide variety of imported and domestic glasses.
